GA Music Camp was founded as the Northeast Georgia Summer Guitar Camp in the summer of 2012 by Buford, GA based classical guitarist Derwyn Browne. In 2017, to reflect its wider scope, it was renamed The GA Music Camp. Serving only 5 campers the first year, the camp has grown steadily to a current capacity of 25 -30 campers. The guitar remains the primary focus of the camp but the curriculum has expanded to include flute and vocal performance, all presented with an emphasis on ensemble performance.
My daughter has attended this camp for 5 years. It is a great opportunity for her to experience a full day of intensive music/guitar training. The camp has accommodated her varying skill level each year. The guest musicians bring a variety of performing/competition experiences to share. I would highly recommend this camp for any level musician.Leigh Page
My teenage son has attended this camp for 3 years, and he has enjoyed it and grown as a musician every time. He loves playing alongside of fellow musicians as well as his teachers throughout the week. He likes being able to spend hours of dedicated time to his love for music. Each time he attends, he is challenged to improve in specific areas such as technique and performance. If your child loves music and/or guitar, this camp is a unique experience that they’ll never forget.Ruthie Norton
My children are lucky enough to study with Mr. Browne and I can’t say enough great things about this camp! If your child plays guitar this camp is amazing and I highly recommend it. My children advanced their playing skills six months ahead from where they were with only one week in the camp. There are always talented special teachers brought in and they learn a wide variety of styles and techniques. Worth every penny!!Holly Ingraham
My daughter has attended GA Music Camp for the past several years and not only does she have a blast, she always comes out a more skillful musician. If you are looking for a camp for summer, I recommend this one!Mindy Dowdy
My grandson, Phoenix, began attending the GA Music Summer Camp in 2012, when it was originally called NE Georgia Summer Guitar Camp. He continued to attend the camp every year through 2016, at which time he moved out of state. The camp was another way for Phoenix to add to his musicianship as a guitarist and increase his skill level. The ensemble instruction, voice and rhythm classes were of great value to him as well. I had the pleasure of volunteering at the camp the same years that my grandson attended and I still continue to volunteer today. I enjoy working with the children, monitoring them at lunch and breaks and also taking photographs throughout the day to capture the events of the camp. The camp is a great learning experience for all young musicians!!Judy Osborne
